Full Description
Pair of gate lodges and piers, 1789. Ashlar but brick to sides, slate roofs, single brick wall stacks. (2)
The 1910 plan shows a bakehouse cum wash house which probably stood adjacent to the N lodge. Outbuildings to the NW on (3). The arms on the gate piers are those of the Pelham family, the motto is that of the Order of the Garter. The 1910 plan shows the extensions to the rear of the original lodges. The S lodge served as a kitchen and living room while the N lodge was bedrooms. (1)
