Full Description

Pair of gate piers and flanking walls. c.1700. Removed from Shireoaks Hall and placed here early C20. (1)
Its primary function is to give direct access to Hardwick village. Built about the year 1785 it cost 100 pounds. (2)
The gate would appear to have come from Shireoaks Hall, because it does not match any of the others which are on the estate. (3)
