Full Description

To N of town. Squat brick tower mill. Has no cap but all machinery is in situ. No sails, but this is possibly the only restorable windmill in the county. (1)
Tower type mill, short, tarred red brick. Ogee cap structure, 4 patent sails and fan tails. (Up to c 1930 another windmill of same type but taller and of plain red brick stood at the same NGR but this structure now disappeared.) The mill was previously taken over by Ancient Monuments but responsibility recently passed back to owner. Grinding wheels and iron structures still intact, wooden fittings still to be seen but badly rotted. (2)
Shown as Windmill (Flour). (4)
The CBA industrial survey seems to be confused as there appears to have only ever been one tower mill at Mill Mount. (5)
The mill standing to the north of Tuxford village on Mill Mount to the east of the Great North Road was once a pair of windmills which stood side by side. This mill was tarred black with four storeys and an ogee cap. It was built c.1820. (6)
See M18134,5 for post mills.
