Full Description

A large 3 storeyed building, parts of which could well be C18. It has been subject to some renovation over the years. We didn't go inside. The property is up for sale and only with some difficulty did we get permission to measure it (08/07/1969). (1)
Demolished 24/05/1989. (2)
Ordsall Mill (corn). (3)
Watermill shown. (4)
Possibly of C18 origin this was a 3 storey brick and tile watermill demolished in 1989. At various times it was a corn mill and a paper mill. Steam power was added in 1851 and it was partly a scrap iron store by 1933. It was a corn mill in 1701 and by 1727 a paper mill had been established. It was sold in 1890 as a flour mill. Whilst it was a paper mill in 1815 a Foudrnier (sic) machine was added. (5)
