Full Description

Demolished 1964. Foundations of mill only remain. Walls very substantial, base 5 bricks thick, tapering off to one. Remains of retaining wall between river and water wheel made of stone (15/12/1966). (1)
Laneham mills (flour). (2)
In DB the Archbishop of York had one mill value 16/-. Milling took place until c 1930. The mill was brick and slate with an enclosed low breastshot wheel driving three pairs of stones. It was adjacent to the windmill. In 1950 it was still workable but had not been used for about 5 years. (3)
