Cropmarks, part of a rectangular field system with a group of 3 or 4 smaller rectangles in line, probably a settlement. The field system is probably part of a more extensive one. (1) (2) (3)
Between Bishopfield Farm and Roman Bank the cropmarks of the fields approach the latter at an angle of between 30 and 60 degrees, and not at right angles as would be expected if contemporary with, or later than the bank. Between SK 650888 and SK 650895, the strips are from 80.0m to 150.0m in width. (E section) Cropmarks of brickwork plan fields possibly of Ro date, with a cluster of at least 6 enclosures from 400sqm to c 2Ha in area N of Scrooby Top. A circle, probably a round house, 10.0m in diameter, is within one of the large enclosures. An isolated enclosure at SK 652892 is 600sqm in area and has an entrance on the E. (4)
