Full Description

A sestertius of Antoninus Pius was found while excavating foundations for a greenhouse in Bottom Street (now Low Street) in c 1964. Rev ANNONA AUG. Date 147-8 AD. Now in NUM. (1)
The museum notes; found c 1964 by Mr GEA Emarton of the White House, Elston. He said he found the coin by an apple tree and indicated the spot in his garden at above grid ref. (2)
