Full Description

C18 gravel pit, situated alongside road from old A1 (Retford-Bawtry) to A614 (Blyth-Bawtry). Pit adjacent to industrial plant for separating sand and gravel. Sand brought from elsewhere for mixing purposes. Still in use though according to local workmen it is almost worked out. (1)
