The only working mill in the county. Built in 1812. Brick tower tapered from the base for the most part but parallel towards the top. Only one other like that - Farndon Mill, Newark. Has ogee cap, 4 patent sails and fantail. In good working order and operates regularly. Tower is painted black - traditional for waterproofing the brickwork. (1)
Built by subscription in 1812-15 and still owned by a syndicate of farmers. It was heightened in 1884. (2)
