Full Description

The remains of a homestead moat, the E arm of which has been destroyed by an embankment alongside the River Trent, (1)
As on 6in sheet. Pit in centre with some large slabs of stone in sides. Moat dry at present. (2)
Long description of the remains - see OS card. (4)
3 sided moat with R Trent forming the 4th side of the rectangle. The towpath and embankment separate the E side from the river. Remains of C19 brick building can be seen within the area of the moat but excluded from the scheduling. The site is too overgrown to locate the pit noted in (2). (5)
There is no indication that the site existed much before the end of the eighteenth century (6)
