Plumtree and Hesley (above grid ref) listed under villages now lost, but linked with another village in 1334 tax list. (1)
Nothing visible on available APs. (2)
(Hesley is listed as a lost village at SK 618957 - S Yorks) Site of deserted Med village of Plumtree - SK 633924. (3)
No traces of Med occupation were seen in the arable fields to the E of Plumtree Farm. To the N and W is permanent grass whilst the modern mining village of Bircotes has encroached close to the S. (4)
