Full Description

A market and fair were held at the cross (outside the priory gates). (1) (2)
The market cross has been re-erected, and appears original apart from the upper portion of the shaft. The original site (SK 59007878 - (4)) now falls under a modern highway. (3)
Market cross. C13, re-sited 1896 and restored C20. Ashlar. Octagonal base of 5 steps carrying square plinth and tapered octagonal shaft. (5)
