Full Description

Extensive earthworks over a mile long, still shown by OS, almost certainly represent the park pale of Grove Park, shown by (1) and (2) extending to the NW of Grove church and S of Gringley. (3)
The park pale has been mutilated, and in places destroyed by agricultural working and soil slip. It now attains a max height of c 2.5m and is situated below a terraced road which post dates the pale. (4)
Park of Robert de Morteyn, mentioned 1299. (6)
