Full Description

Octagonal tower near Beeston Station - built by the Joseph Lowe of Highfield for meteorological observations (early C19). Continued in use for meteorology and astronomy by his son Edward, equipment removed from tower to Highfield House in 1866. The tower was used as a storehouse, a dovecote and then left to decay. Demolished 10/01/1963 to make way for new houses. (1)
