Full Description

A number of skeletons were found in shallow soil while the Spanish Garden, E of the house, was being made not many years ago (author suggests they may have been Civil War soldiers). (1)
Letters patent of 1356-7 refer to the side of the infirmary close to the churchyard. The parlour between the S transept and the chapter house was also a passage to the churchyard. (2)
The site is now covered by the gardens of the Abbey. Nothing is known of the skeletons found early in this century. (3)
See M2565 for Priory.
