Full Description
In the bounds of property of Newstead Abbey recorded on the Patent Roll of 24 Ed II 1350-1 "Newstede Crosse which stands between Newsted and Blythworthe" is mentioned. The Rev RH Whitworth, in his new work on Newstead Abbey (not traced) fancies that Newstead Cross may have stood by the Pilgrim Oak. It appears to have been on the boundary of Blidworth parish (assoc with Knight's Wood ? - Knightcross Dale SK 54505470, OS 6in 1913-39). (1)
