Full Description

(Dovecote) Standing away from the other buildings in a grass paddock on Hawk's Nest Farm it is built of brick and measures 18ft x 20ft. The roof is new tiled, but was probably originally thatched. There is one string course of 2 bricks, 8ft up, and there are 2 entrances to the nests, each of 8 holes, on E and W sides. The lower part of the cote has been turned into a loose box for mares. (1)
The dovecote is built of modern brick in Flemish bond and is therefore not an antiquity. (2)

Dovecote at Worksop Manor (Hawks Nest Farm). 16th Century (Whitaker) independent brick structure. Tiled roof (1927). External dimensions 18 ft by 20 ft. Brick walls 2 ft thick, brick dimensions 9 in by 4 in by 2 in. 1000? Nest holes (448 in 1927). (4)
