Full Description

At Epperstone Manor House, on the W side of the entrance gate is a brick dovecote. It is nearly square, of 2 storeys, with a recent roof. The nesting holes are blocked. (1)(2)(3)

Pigeoncote and attached gateways, barn and wall. Early C18 pigeoncote. Late C18 … barn. (4)
Brick dovecot, long stable-barn and iron gate by Huntingdon Shaw … erected by the Howes. (5)
Dovecote, at Epperstone Manor, now Police Training School. Adjacent to main entrance. Independent rectangular brick structure, built c1690. Hipped roof with plain tiles. Dimensions 13 ft 6 in by 14 ft 6 in. Current use as store. 340 brick nest holes, now filled in. (6)
Early C18 dovecote constructed in red brick in an irregular bond with a brick plat band and a flat clay tile roof. Internal features include a brick floor, chamfered principal joists on brick piers, a timber stair to first floor level, and a boarded first floor. At first floor level the brick nest boxes and perches are carried on brick corbels; the perches survive but all the nest holes have been infilled with tile. Adjacent barn is early C18 of red brick. On the south elevation there is a boarded door and, to the east, a stone mullioned window. (8)
