Full Description
In 1941, Mr Whitbread of Lowdham sent the author 4 small Neo implements he had found in the Trent valley at Gunthorpe. Since then many finds made. (1)
Flint arrowheads, scrapers and borers have been found, and in 1941-3, c 80 Neo implements were found following rain or ploughing, including burins, fabricators, scrapers, borers etc. (2)
In the Margidunum Museum are displayed and stored a number of worked flints including a leaf shaped arrowhead with rudimentary tang. Probably Neo/BA. Accompanying plans show the 2 areas in which the flints were found. (3)
Perambulation of sites revealed no finds. (4)
