Full Description
To accomodate tithes a barn was built and still stands as a private house to the NE of the churchyard. (1)
The house is known as Tithe Barn Cottage. It was used as a barn until its conversion to a private residence in 1890. An extension was added to it shortly afterwards, but nothing is known of its architectural history prior to that date. (2)
Tithe Barn Cottage is a 2 storied rectangular building mainly built of modern brick. The steeply pitched roof is gabled and pantiled with a stone coping to the S gable. The S wall and the ground floor of the E front are built of irregularly coursed stone. No definite dating evidence was seen. (3)
Locally Listed by Ashfield District Council (ADC Ref: 262) (4).
