Full Description

There was a church at Osberton at time of DB. (1)
Human remains were found during alterations to Osberton Hall in 1800. It is said that a blacksmith's shop, on the site of the present offices, had in its walls stones which appear to have formed part of the church, and mention is also made of a font being there at that time. (3)
No trace of an ecclesiastical building was seen. (4)
The Estate manager has recently completed a survey, he reports no remains associated with an early church, nor does he know of a font or anything which could be mistaken for one. Perambulation confirmed these remarks. (5)
See M 5526 for Osberton Hall.
