Full Description

A market is recorded in Bingham from c 1330 and no doubt it would possess a market cross from an early date but no records have been traced. (1)
A butter cross in the market place is mentioned in the Notts Directory of 1832. The present cross replaced it in 1861. (2)
The later C19 cross is extant as published; there are no indications of an earlier monument. (3)
See M10605 for 1861 market cross.
