Full Description

Further to the discovery of Ro material eroding from the edge of this quarry a reconnaissance excavation was carried out 10-15/07/1985. Ro settlement remains were revealed over a length of c 28m, consisting of one large ditch into the filling of which a wall foundation had been set, 3 intercutting ditches and spreads of stone representing scattered walling material or disrupted paving. All these features produced Ro pottery. (1)
Pottery C1-C3, mostly C2. Some animal bone, lead weight. (2)
