Full Description

Site of Poyntz's Redoubt, a Parliamentarian battery near Sand Farm. A small rectangular battery containing 2 cannon. (1)
The indicated site is now well mown undulating open parkland with no surface traces of the redoubt. The topographical situation is commanding with an open vista to the N and NW. The battery would command the River Devon and the main Nottm-Newark line of march. (2)
