Full Description

Rebel Stone. Boldly cut on the Rebel Stone are the words "Here lieth the body of a rebel - 1745". One of a group of Jacobite prisoners who was killed trying to escape whilst being conveyed from Edinburgh to London for trial. (1)
An obelisk of red stone surrounded by iron railings. The inscription cannot now be read. (2)
