Full Description
A gentleman, digging to plant some Tree by the Fosse road side, discover'd 4 urns in a strait line, laid at equal distances, in one of which was a brass Lar or household god 1.5in long, but much consum'd by rust. (1)
Ro urns are said to have been found here from time to time by the side of the Fosse Way. The first recorded discovery as above, in 1722, some urns also containing square clay beads supposed to be British. A pot of Ro coins is said to have been dug up near them. (2)
This site is almost certainly associated with possible cemetery M18190 (Meaney suggests AS). NWM have no information to add to the recording. (4)
