Full Description

A well shaft 6.71m deep by 0.76m wide, of sandstone at the top above a rock- cut section was examined. It is covered by a hollow rectangular sandstone housing with 2 holes to hold a windlass handle. It is likely to be of pre- C18 date. (1)
