Full Description
WW2. Another set of lights were set up on Colston Gate near the Fosse to serve the same purpose as the lights on Mill Hill (to simulate the runway of an airfield as a decoy for Newton and Tollerton airfields). (1)
WW2 RAF Airfield Decoy for Newton Airfield. 'Q' type lighting, built 1941-1942, SK659358 but co-located on two sites. (2)
This monument is most likely one half of the bombing decoy described in (2). (3)
