Full Description
WW2 pill box at Vimy Ridge Farm, overlooking the Grantham Canal. Rectangular, red brick with concrete roof. (1)
Pillbox (type FW3/22). Hexagonal brick skin on both inside and out over concrete. Concrete lintels, brick stepped embrasures on four sides, one on either side of the entrance. Pillbox is 7ft high and has sides 7ft long. Walls 18in thick. Central brick pillar, now lying on the floor of adjacent asbestos Nissen hut. (2)
6 sided (type 22) pillbox. The pillbox gives a good view over the surrounding countryside. It is located on a ridge in a field close to the Grantham Canal. All concrete shelves are missing. The concrete roof is of double thickness. (3)
