Full Description

One fair house with a watemill thereunto, and certain closes about the same, called Winkarfield Closes. (1)
The Parliamentary Survey of 1656 refers to "the new high way leading from Ollerton by Wirkensfield Mill" (ie A614, as moved by George Saville). (2)
Inkersall Farm is C19 and the manor, 350m to the W was built in 1939, replacing an earlier building. Enquiries here established that much stone is found scattered about just below the surface. Remains of 2 large, but undateable millstones can be seen but no earthworks. (3)
