Full Description
Pinfold. (1)
Early-19th century pinfold (possibly dating to period of the 1811 enclosure of the parish, first appears on 1820 Henry Stevens map), rectangular, approximately 7.5m x 6.5m, formed by early-19th century former stable building to south, by part-demolished 1m high brick wall to east, by small section of 1m high brick wall and timber post and rail fencing to north and by conifer hedges to west. Originally part of the land owned by Trinity College (Cambridge), as shown on 1811 Enclosure Map. Site is overgrown and has been used for tipping of garden waste for a considerable period. Attached stable is single storey, red brick with pantile roof, timber stable-type door on south side, stone dressings around opening, dentil corbelling at eaves. (2)
