Full Description

At "C" (on map p 40) is a very curious pond on the top of rising ground. At the W corner of this pond the bank sunk, about 40 years ago (ie 1840s), some 7 or 8 feet, altering the shape of the pond from a parallelogram to the figure shown at C. There was every appearance of some subterranean cavity having fallen in. (1)
See M1741 for Roman town of Marigidunum.
