Full Description

A house shown on a map of c 1592 (2), against which is written "The erl of Shrewsbury Stoke Bardolfe". The drawing shows what appears to be substantially a two-storey building, but with dormer windows indicating an attic range. It has a slightly projecting entrance and two wings on the conventional C16 pattern. It is surrounded by a low, enclosing wall. (1)
Source (1) suggests this building stood at the sewage farm, but the road pattern indicates approx above grid ref.
See M1793 for the Bardolph family manor house, to E.
