Full Description

The 3 largest circular features, one single ditched and one double-ditched with another single ditch to the SE. (1) (2) (3)
These marks fall on gently undulating arable land on the Trent flood plain. The 2 E fields are under crop. The field to the W is ploughland but nothing of interest was found there. 4 of the 5 rings seem to have a central mark and are all probably barrow sites. (4)
Excavations by TPAT in 1992 included the largest (B)…of the single rings, plus one….proven to comprise two concentric ditches (A). The larger of the single rings produced…… three Bronze Age pots, each with associated cremated bone……it may reasonably be concluded that they belong to a Bronze Age cemetery. (5)
