A similar bastion (to M 8086) SW of the hall is shown on the OS map but was levelled during the 1939-45 war. (1)
Wiverton Hall was a Royalist outpost garrison in the Civil War defeated by seige ... to the E and W are 2 half moon batteries. The western outwork is now completely ploughed out but the plan is on 25in. It was apparently similar to the surviving work but pointing SW. (2)
