AP shows linear cropmarks 0.5 mile S of Averham. On DW 55 and 56 2 enclosures show lined by linear feature. Also a ? square enclosure and linear features. (1) (2)
The marks are located in a field that shelves gently towards a stream in the wood to the immediate E. Half under corn stubble and half sugarbeet when visited. There are no surface irregularities to identify the site and nothing of interest was found. (4)
