Full Description
WE3 - From one walk over the field over 200 sherds of pottery were found, so prolific in one area that it must be assumed to be over a "site" at above grid ref (finds are of various dates). (1)
We again returned to walk over this field to see what could be found around the probable site. Again a large quantity of pottery sherds was found, possibly centred slightly to the W of the suggested site. To the E of the site is a copse which after heavy snow stood in water while the rest of the field had drained quickly - we wonder if this suggest a building lies underneath. (2)
Much fieldwalking in this area - see SMR map.
