Full Description

Fragments of an Anglo-Saxon cross shaft with carved interlace work is at St Bartholomew's. (1)
This stone shaft bears the following inscription; "This part of a Runic cross was found in the N wall of the tower at the restoration of 1893 and probably dates c C11." Measuring 0.6m x 0.5m x 0.25m the stone is badly mutilated but wheel decoration is evident. (2)
