Full Description
There are unclassified earthworks to the S of Bestwood Park. (1)
Terracing to the E and a mound to the S of the Lodge are probably the "unclassified earthworks". The terracing is the result of C19 formal landscape gardening. The mound which has a flat top is probably the site of a contemporary belvedere or summerhouse and has on its NE side the now dry gully of a small cascade. (2)
Bestwood Lodge was built … in 1862-5. Gardens landscaped by Teulon and Thomas Church. (4)
All landscaping visible on (5), with 'Summer House' named.
See M5261 for hunting lodge, M8932 for victorian villa.
