Full Description

Excavations at Slaughterhouse Lane in 1984 and 1988. Sites NSL 01, 02 and 04. Preliminary conclusions; P Med lime kilns and other pits; much P Med and modern disturbance, including 2 large cellars, brick/stone lined. (1)
General late Med site clearance and levelling was followed by pits, lime kilns and cellared buildings, and ultimately by a series of brick cottages of late C18 or C19 date which stood until demolition in 1988. (2)
