Full Description

Excavations by Old White Hart Yard in 1976 … There had been considerable disturbance of the bank (L5678) by later features. A large pit, 3.05m E-W and at least 1.4m N-S contained unglazed tiles, stone and pottery, most of it C14. In the bottom lay a group of flat limestone slabs, all of them heavily bunt and covered by large quantities of ash and burnt material. (1)
