Full Description

6 Anglian urns of simple form from Netherfield are in Lincoln Museum. (1) (2)
6 Anglo-Saxon urns from Netherfield are preserved in NUM. (3)
Origin of grid ref unknown. The earliest reference is 1932 (2), the card in the Thoroton Gazetteer says they were found "near Netherfield", and gives the parish as "Colwick". Netherfield only developed as a settlement after the construction of the railway. From the NUM accession numbers, it appears the urns were transferred from Lincoln Museum in 1957. (5)
