Full Description

11.5m S of the chapel, dry stone foundation walls, 60cm thick, of a cistern building 4.7m square and built directly on to the natural limestone bedrock, was excavated. The floor, still partly slabbed, had a rough pit 1.1m x 80cm x 55cm deep in centre, with what appears to be a spring at the bottom. The entrance, apparently on the N facing the chapel, and the roof slabs, would make the building contemporary with the chapel. (1)
See M3999 for chapel site, M4000 for nearby building.
