Full Description

When the Duke of Newcastle purchased the property in 1839 he caused the greater part of the house to be pulled down. After a lapse of some considerable time it was rebuilt, such portions of the old building that remained being converted into a good residence. (1)
A new portion ... was built. (2)
The present Worksop Manor is entirely modern ... the private residence adjoining the S side being of the C19. (3)
…demolished most of the rest of the house in June 1841. The outbuildings, which formed the offices, were retained and converted into the present rather modest Worksop Manor. (4)
See M8963 for previous house.
