Full Description

The owner [was] the Hon. Frederick Montagu (sic) … A slight clumsiness in proportion and handling suggests that the architect was a provincial one. The Adam-influenced design and finely detailed interiors are … characteristic of Carr's one-time assistant Lindley of Doncaster (cf. Serlby Hall). (1)
Named 'The Hall' (2).
The seat of the honourable Frederick Montague. Finished in the year 1787. (3)
Compared to the engraving in (3), the house appears externally unaltered. (4)
