Full Description

A late C3 Ro coin hoard was found whilst digging foundations, in 1959, for Manor Park Infants School, Collyer Road. The hoard was in an earthenware pot, and consisted of c 1550 coins (of which c 100 were distributed privately). Mr CM Daniels (MOW) dug trial trenches near the find spot, but found nothing. (1)
Coin hoard of about 1500 coins of C3 in a flagon. Site of new school, about 1/2 mile W of church in a foundation trench; buried about 3ft 6in down in sand. No Ro structures. (Gives SK 618497 - does not fit description.) (2)
