Full Description
A yeoman's house of c.1600, almost unaltered inside. Timber frame, concealed by brick on the ground floor. Original plan of hall and two cross wings. The staircase was inserted c.1700 and the hall divided into two storeys. The hall fireplace backs on to the throughpassage characteristic of the North. (1)
Felling dates following dendro analysis: 1266 for central range; 1540 for west cross wing. (2)
