Full Description

A late BA type III socketed bronze spearhead, 18in long, dredged from the Trent near Gunthorpe c 1884, deposited in Newark Museum by the Trent Navigation Company. (1) (2) (3) (4)
Location of find as above. No additional siting information. (5)
Class IIIa, Ind Phase VII, Taunton, MBA, length 275mm, max blade width 52mm, socket width c.26mm, a very dark patina towards the point, the wooden shaft remains in the socket. (6)
