Full Description

Named 'Manor Farm'. (1)
Double pile in red brick with buff brick decorative band. Slate roofs with moulded gables. Front elevation is divided into three bays with projecting pedimented central bay with central panelled door with fanlight, under a round arch with alternating black and buff brick which also flank the door surround. The two flanking windows are also under round arches; all the other windows are under segmental arches. All the openings have black bricks closest to the window and a row of buff bricks over. The pediment has a central decorative polychrome brick ring. The eaves have decorative bands of black and buff bricks as does the pediment. This pattern is also repeated on the gable end chimney stacks on each pile and on a ridge stack. The window openings have corbelled stone cills. The polychrome brick decoration is used even more extensively on the adjacent stable range; with a chequer-board pattern in headers over all the openings and decorative patterned eaves. Permission granted for residential conversion in 1971. (2)
