Full Description

The farmhouse was the first building to be constructed on the site, being built in 1766 and brick ancillary buildings to the farmhouse possibly being erected Mid C19. Stone boundary wall to Hall Lane…has been used as part of [some of the ancillary buildings]. …owned by the Duke of Newcastle c.1800. However, there is a stone plaque in the gable of the porch entrance…with the inscription WN and the date appears to be 1766. The property was then owned by Barbara Walker c.1900 (who also owned Moorgreen Colliery).
50 site photographs, some 1940s, 50s and 60s photographs of families that had lived at the farm. A3 colour aerial photograph from the 1990s. (1)
